SSAFA provides lifelong support for Service men and women and their families. In Somerset, we aim to maintain a team of 50 caseworkers whose role it is to respond to requests for support so that they can help clients who find themselves under pressure for a variety of reasons. The caseworkers liaise with the Forces charitable funds to find funding against particular needs. They also work closely with Social Services so that clients can be signposted to appropriate agencies for the advice they need to solve problems.
Caseworkers are given formal training which includes being taught to use the Casework Management System (CMS). This is a web based system that is used to manage all aspects of a client's case. needs assistance or offering a listening ear during operational deployments, it's all vital work.
