Would you like to help people in your community during the COVID-19 crisis? We've launched Corona Helpers, a new website where individuals can pledge their support and COVID-19 support groups can recruit and manage volunteers. Visit www.corona-helpers.co.uk. This means that we may take a little longer to reply to contact requests about opportunities that are not related to COVID-19 support, so please bear with us and thank you for your patience.

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements

An interest in helping people get more active. Most activities in Sport50 are low intensity, and can be done seated or standing, so you don't need to be super fit to run these sessions. Being friendly, sociable and approachable can really help to encourage people to join in with different activities.

Providing sessions in your local community will bring a valuable asset to the health and wellbeing of those who attend. Whoever you engage within the session should benefit from increased mental, physical and/or social wellbeing

Benefits

Encouraging people to get more active can be very rewarding. People experience many benefits from being physically active (social, mental and physical), which you will be enabling them to do. Sport 50 are very sociable sessions, so you will meet new people and friendships often form in. Sport50 is also a fun session, so people are often laughing and having a good time, which you will get to join in with.
Often the activities run themselves once started, so you may find that you may also become more active by joining in with the different activities and games.
